Gaining dignity in polite way

 Meet with not gentlemen man, return the same way?

Two years ago, when I went back China to visit my mother, I encountered with an uncomfortable experience at Dunhuang airport, when some Chinese men were not gentlemen, they were rude to me.

It was winter vacation in 2011. I took a flight from Chicago to Beijing, then transferred to Urumuqi , my hometown. When I was waiting for the plane to head home at Beijing airport, the airport informed us that it had been snowing in Urumuqi, so our flight was delayed. After three hours, our plane could eventually take off.

However, in the air, we were notified that the flight only could land at Dunhuang airport for worse weather in Urumuqi. After about two hours, the flight landed at Dunhuang airport. We were told to wait for 4-5 hours at the airport. Then the airport provided our instant noodles with hot water.

Every passenger picked up their noodles in line, then fetched hot water in an other line. While I was standing in line for hot water, several men crowed me out twice, I had to leave the line, let them ahead of me. It seemed that hot water was lacking or in short supply.

Finally, only three people were standing there for hot water, I walked there. I was waiting for hot water when one man suddenly dashed in front of me, I could not keep silent, I seriously said to the man: I had been after you all for three times! He was embarrassed, then just  said: "sorry, you go ahead."

I understood if I keep polite when I meet with rude behavior,I also can get respect and dignity. This experience make me more confident to face challenge situation, and deal with them in proper and wise action.
